Coinciding with the holy month of Ramadan, the Balkan research team of the Laboratory of Studies and Research on the Ottoman Heritage in Algeria (1516-1830) organised on 17 March 2025, a dialogue session on the theme: Ramadan in the Balkans: (Rituals, Customs and Traditions...) at the laboratory's headquarters, in which a group of PhD students participated with their interventions and interesting scientific discussions.

  As part of its scientific activities, the research team (Balkans) of the LERPOA Laboratory organized a study day on the subject of maps and cartography in the Age of New technologies, on February 27, 2025, at the laboratory; for the benefit of the third-year bachelor's students and the master's degree students specializing in the history of the Ottoman Empire.

About the Prize

In line with the objectives of the Laboratory of Studies and Research in the Ottoman Heritage in Algeria and its keenness to encourage scientific and academic research and to revive the Algerian historical memory, and in line with the laboratory's vision to open various fields for researchers and students of different levels, highlight talents and scientific abilities, and value the research done in this field, the Laboratory of Studies and Research in the Ottoman Heritage in Algeria announces the launch of the first edition of the research prize for research students at different levels and in different scientific disciplines.
